Title: The Challenge

Fandom: Pirates of the Caribbean; Sparrington

Rating: PG-13

Disclaimer: I have no claim on POTC or the lovely characters who populate it, even if it seems that James Norrington has, somewhat disconcertingly, made himself quite at home in my head with no apparent plans to leave. Jack Sparrow has been dropping by at random ( Read more... )

I love James and Lawrence! They're so similar, as Norringtons, but Lawrence has his own personality distinct from James. He's powerful - yet James knows just where his buttons are, and exactly how (and when) to push them. This is a blast to read, especially when Jack gets into the mix.

I also love James standing up for Jack, being all protective and all. Oh yes.

Thank you for a lovely read, and a lovely series. Looking forward to more!

Thank you very much, as always, darling.

I've had a surprisingly fun time with Lawrence, for all that I had not originally planned for him to show up, but then again most of my original plans for this story have repeatedly fallen apart with oddly good results. And throwing Jack into the sibling-banter between he and James was just plain entertaining: "Is that a family motto then?"

And you're more than welcome. ^ ^

Awesome instalment! I just adore the banter between James and Lawrence, it's so entertaining! And the part where James stood between them, protecting Jack, was gorgeous. :D

I'm so curious how this will continue! :)

Just lovely. I seem to be running out of words to describe your stories. I intended to save this for later but I was too greedy, and couldn't wait to read it.

I love this bit:

He wanted badly to touch James, but refrained for now, knowing that there was still a small chance that they were still visible to curious, albeit distant, naval eyes. “He gave me a hell of a fright.” Jack swallowed, wondering at how his voice had so easily grown rough at the mere memory.

James’ eyelids lowered as he resisted the urge to turn and to offer comfort.

I love that they need to touch each other for warmth and solace and comfort, and that they are truly lovers in that sense.(Too many stories have them restraining their affection for each other.) I think it's these small displays of affection that I've come to cherish the most in your writing. Well, there's a lot to cherish in what you write but you know what I mean. Thank you so much for this, and I'm really looking forward to more. Your writing is such a delight.

As always, darling, you both flatter me and improve my day a little. Thank you for that. I love hearing that I've managed to write something moving that's considered worth cherishing. I'll put forth my best efforts to keep it up.
