I spent the first part of this story thinking he was actually dead. Don't do that to me! *growls* But then he shows up in Jack's bed, and all's right with the world. *snickers*

Loved this, by the by. Particularly Groves, and wardrobes smelling of rum, and presents thrown at the recipient's head, and Gibb's unmanly shriek, and banter. Always the banter.

Thank you!

Aw, but that was sort of the point, m'dear. I love tricking people; it's part of the fun of writing. And otherwise, the appearance of James in Jack's bed would not have been nearly so glorious.

Thank you; I'm quite glad that you liked it.

And you're more than welcome.

Wow. Jack's pain was so real, I could feel it in the pit of my own stomach. Even though I was certain James was still alive, and would turn up at some point, still. Ouch. Well done!

I think I was as happy as Jack to hear the sound of that "certain, familiar baritone" :-D

As always, your characterization and voices are spot on. Interesting backstory with Groves! I hope his dreams come true too - Groves is cool, he deserves it. Meanwhile, Jack and James have some catching up to do......

Thank you for this!

Bwahaha! Yes! That t'was precisely my goal.

I like Groves. For all that canon gave us little to work with insofar as his character, I have fun extrapolating and filling in the considerable blank.

And thank you muchly, darling, as always.

I would love to know more about what, exactly, James saw and overheard after Groves spiked the punch :-)

\o/ That was a bloody fantastic plot twist; you had me near tears before you turned the tables and had a go at making me melt instead. In short: ♥
