As everyone else has already raved over the James as James Bond thing, I'm not going to mention it.
Apart from saying EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!! :)

I love this! Fab idea and, as ever, nice to see James being the hot, resourceful, suave superspy capable one and Jack (for once) playing catchup.

Brilliant!

My thanks, m'dear. I do so love catching people off-guard--especially Jack.

That's just lovely! Read Mobilis in mobili as well, which was very intriguing - I tend to really enjoy modern AUs, when they're well written, and I liked your take on it very much. Good detail in the beginning, describing how Jack changed because times changed, but that he's till kind of a rogue. That glorious moment when Jack and James look at each other... :)

And this one is a good sequel and really fun! James being all Bond-like (and Jack Davenport would really make a great James Bond, he's even got dark hair, dammit!), and Jack being fascinated and a bit annoyed.

Might there be more in this universe?

Thank you. I myself tend to be a little leery of Modern-AU's, if only because I've stumbled across a number of them with characterizations that struck me as discordant somehow. Then I wrote Mobilis in Mobili, with some minor trepidation, because the idea for it was so damned persistent.

Jack's details are just such a huge part of his character, how could I resist? ^_^ The same goes for this version of James and his past history in the world of espionage.

There is indeed at least one more story soon to come, possibly two, as soon as I can find the time to finish with them. Perhaps I'll finally get the first of them out today.

Yes, I've also seen quite a few that didn't manage to keep the characters IC and that's what's important - to make it believable even in that new setting.

I really like those details. I also often enjoy it when an author includes hints of detailed backstory and you as the reader know that the author thought it through. You don't need to know all of it, those little tidbits are enough to give you an idea, to be intrigued, to flesh out the characters without being too hm, expository or including things that aren't important for that particular story (e.g. that bit about Jack having a child and finding the fountain gone).

Saw the update, will read instantly! :)
