Rating: PG-13
Disclaimer: I have no claim on POTC or the lovely characters who populate it, even if it seems that James Norrington has, somewhat disconcertingly, made himself quite at home in my head with no apparent plans to leave. Jack Sparrow's habit

Now, as for stopping it where you did? Evil. And not very nice. Also, evil. :P

Yes. I am evil, but it wasn't entirely my fault this time. I tried for half a day to write the rest of the scene and couldn't. The rhythm and the language, and the story-structure itself apparently forbade me, and after a while just declared in a booming cliche-god-like voice "This is where the scene shalt end! Deal with it!" And I was at last forced to let it go. I suppose I'll have to make up for it in the next chapter. I certainly have a few ideas... /evil smirk/

Jack eyed the ex-commodore from head to foot, his eyes especially lingering at the laces at James’ shirt-collar, which were loose enough to show the skin just below his collarbone
Just... guh. What a lovely detail. And the end is just perfect, with James all sexy and predatory and Jack all melty. Thanks for all the lovely images.

I love your portrayal of both of them, and the plot is shaping into something fascinating.

I'm most assuredly working on it, but work and home are after me like hounds after a fox, so it may take me a bit.

But lovely chapter, lovely lovely! You have a distinct lack of angst in your writing, I realize, which is rather startling. Haven't decided quite yet if I like the way James seems so at ease with his transition/idea of the transition.
But anywho! My fave lines which produces giddy squeeing laughter: "leaving Will alone in the dark with his mouth hanging open because he would recognize that voice anywhere, and so now his world made no sense whatsoever."
Wonderful Will line!
and
"I think the most creative had to be when a Scottish officer called me a ‘wolfhound’ which I rather liked at the time; I was, however, drunk."
xDDD
I suppose that reference provides a hint of backup for the Gaelic, but until I see reason why James would choose Gaelic over English... ^__^
