I am hopefully going to Basel in April with Tania and the others for the Holbein exhibition, it's very exciting. And then of course there is the exhibition of his English portraits at the Tate later on in the year! Has anybody been to Colmar? I'd like to see the Isenheim altarpiece while I'm nearby but am not sure if its worth staying there

I know! The only Holbeins I've seen in person are those in the National Gallery in London. I'm very much looking forward to seeing some of his drawings as well.

Is it this Holbein exhibit? It looks lovely. When I was in the Kunsthistorisches last month, I was surprised by the portrait of Jane Seymour, not only because I never noticed it before, but because it is a larger version of this painting at the Mauritshuis.
