I have stuck the yellow christ to the kitchen tiles. Outside it is raining on the earth and I am painting a painting that is red and blue. I get an email from my favourite person, saying, Anna, my heart is broken. I go down and look at the muddy Thames; my heart is broken.

I have been staying in London, in Battersea, while I look for a proper job. The past week, though, I've been on the Ile de Re with my mother where it only rained once and that was hardly rain at all. Where do you live?
