Back in her apartment, Hoshi was trying to avoid her television because it was too heartbreaking to see news reports from Japan. With nothing else to distract her, she grabbed her phone and dialed Hurley's number.

Hurley answered his phone, easily distracted from the reality show he was watching. He did not, however, check the caller ID.

"Hey, you got Hurley," he said, unsure who was calling.

Hurley was in the past, so had no idea what was going on. "Yeah, sure," he said, worried. "Should I be worried for you?"
