This guy, and he's ignoring the stranger speaking for a bit before he realizes he doesn't understand something.]
What mess? [He almost asks what a street is before he recalls the word had come up in his reading a few times. The thing below his feet is a street, right? In the Japan he comes from, these things are all but covered in grass and completely unused. So what's dangerous about wandering out onto one?]
