as far as your book club goes, I've come to accept the fact that it's ok to read children's books. I can often be found wandering around the children's books section at B&N, that's where HP is, His Dark Materials is (which is a surprisingly heavy read for kids), and The City of Ember (which again is rather heavy for kids). I highly recommend both His Dark Materials and the entire series that starts with The City of Ember. <3!
