well im reading no-no boy for school but it actually is really good.
it reminds me a little of hemmingway for some reason.

anyways it takes place after wwII when the us had just released japanese interment camps which were created due to the attack on pearl harbor and amercica's usual suspicion of "differentness".
it focuses on ichiro, a young man who has just be released from jail because he refused to join the army and help the us fight the japanese.
its all about self-identity and culture and learning to create a new self-indetity seperate from your parents own ethnic identities.

its very good.

I was in modern dance, ballet etc. as a kid and teenager... I'm wondering if you feel like it worsened, or contributed to anorexia for you?
It magnified it tremendously for me, and I've always wondered how many other girls in dance had eating disorders.

I've never considered myself a dancer so I cant say that dancing intensified my anorexia.
I took dance classes off and on but it wasnt a defining feature of my identity.
but i met a lot of girls who WERE dancers either in support groups or in IP and I know it played a HUGE role in how their EDs intensified or were developed.
