Zoe hasn't had as much to drink, but Inara and Kaylee definitely wanted to toast. More than once. She's warm and buzzed, but not drunk enough to have a hard time getting to her bunk.

She's changed, into a tank and has just managed to pull on a pair of pajama pants (his, as it turns out, but she doesn't realize) when the hatch opens. She sees him almost miss a step and goes to the bottom of the ladder with eyebrows raised.

"You need some help?" she asks, highly amused and idly wondering what they'd do if he fell.

Wash was holding onto the ladder, trying not to giggle as he carefully made his way down the ladder, though he did almost miss a step. And then there was Zoe looking up at him.

"Zoe, Zoe, Zoe, Zoe, Zoe," he said with a bright smile. He stopped and pulled himself together. "No, I'm fine. Might be a li'l bit drunk, though."

Zoe can't help but laugh, and she shakes her head in amusement.

"Just a few too many, huh?" She kisses him and can taste it on his lips, though it's on hers too. "Inara gave me a bottle of wine. Guess I have some catchin' up to do."

She's not sure if she will or not - Wash is an amazing drunk, and she sort of wants to experience it again first hand.

He made it to the bottom of the ladder and kissed her enthusiastically. "One 'r two," he cheerfully admitted, then thought about it. "Maybe more. But Mal was buyin'!"
