Down the Rabbit Hole Part 2

Okay, LJ wouldn't let me post this as one post for some reason...said it was too big no matter what I did.  So it's in two part...obviously read part 1 first.

A curious eyebrow rose at my admission.  “That’s not really like you, Rodney.”

“Elizabeth, nothing about this whole experience is like any of us.”

“You have a point there.  So what ( Read more... )

Thanks so much! Poor John, sometimes you get what you need even when you aren't looking for it.

I'm thoroughly enjoying the steady attrition of 'reality' and the consequences thereof, and the appearance of bits and pieces (the time travel device!) from other stories. I'm also clinging to the belief that you've always fixed every previous catastrophe, and therefore, I am not worried. Honestly. Definitely. *bites nails*

Fear not, but things are never easy in our little universe. So glad you're enjoying it!

This is one of those "wow, how are they going to pull this off" stories. I mean, they think they know what they have to do, but keep forgetting. Gah. Your stories just keep getting better.

This is so great! You've taken such care weaving canon into it that it's chillingly plausible. I could learn to hate you for your chapter breaks, though. *g* Definite edge-of-the-seat stuff. Marvelous.

Well you can't just wrap everything up at the end of the chapter or who would come back and read them? So glad you're enjoying the twist on canon...that was definitely a challenge and yet lots of fun.

It's funny: this is great is exactly the wording that I was going to start out my comment with. I missed the whole drama with the previous post for some reason (and I agree, I don't think it was really all that much to worry about...though greedy me, I wish there could be such exciting journal posts AND another new fic), but I enjoyed it and this one a lot. I had to think really hard about the timeline and how it worked, but I like pretending to sound all smart and sci-fi scientist like when I explain it all to myself. It all makes so much sense, and I was like, oh noes Rodney forgot John again heehee. And it makes so much sense (though of course, is sad) that John would've gotten shot down eventually if he had stayed, and that Rodney would still sort of remember him. I also loved the image of Rodney's wedding ring and John trying to hold onto it as he faded away. What a great new danger for our favorite boys, when death and despair have already happened to them so many times.
