The Fic is finito!

Aug 20, 2006 09:34

Okay, we finally finished the fic and have posted it on both Wraithbait and Fanfiction.net.  It was a long labor of love and thanks to everyone who stuck with it.  But it definitely reads better in one sitting so you might want to go check it out over on one of the archive sites.

what an awesome story!I liked both the John & Rodney from your original universe and from your AU 'verse.

My favorite parts:

Heroic!Miko
Rodney's poor hurt hands, both for the h/c factor and for the symbolism
Rodney & John's "family portrait"
Rodney looking at his laptop screen at that same image when he doesn't even remember John...so touching
Nana McKay! we need to hear more about her!!

happy wags,

If only there really were a Nana ...we think Rodney needed someone like that in his life. Although, technically, she's not a McKay as she's his mother's mother...but close enough. ;-) And so glad you enjoyed the fic!

I enjoy a little less Nana's constant pinching of my ass on trips home. John

I was right! I DID miss parts of this in the posting! It all makes so much more sense now and it was very satisfying to read it all in one sitting. Wow it was fab! I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this.

I love the Rodney you write. He's weirdly clueless and smart at different times. I love how he's aware of how John keeps his own emotional stuff close to the chest (but Rodney gets it out of him eventually *g*) yet you give us ...“How am I hitting on you?” He practically spit the words across the table. “You’re sitting with me aren’t you?",.

But what I so love about these stories, and this one too is that they are such a couple - out, for everyone to see. I love that familiarity with each other and the sheer unashamedness.

Beautiful! Another wonderful addition to the Guide series! Even though I had the pleasure of reading most of the parts individually, I read through the completed story with fangirlish joy :D This was a very clever way to show John keeping his promise from the Geeks and Goons universe. I adored how you switched the allergies, but now I must know--now that the time line is fixed, is John still allergic to citrus? Oh, what wonderful merrymaking! I just finished watching tonight's episode *fangirl squee of death* and had a Guide moment. The undercurrents just made me think of your version of John & Rodney. And that is always a reason to smile!

I've just spent the better part of the past several days reading through your Geeks and Goons series. Thank you thank you thank you thank you for writing them. They are Brilliant! Wonderful! Fantastic! And many other words I can't spell at 2:30 in the morning.

BTW: The stories seem to make referances to other stories I havn't read. Do they link off of either of y'alls gen fics? Is there a time line?

Awwww, thanks so much! We're so glad you found us. And yes, the slash are a combination and build from our two gen series. Links to our gen fics are listed off to the left under River's fics and Koschka's fics. Also, if you go down to just about the first entry we made in the LJ, we have a sort of cross reference list for the gen fics and the refs you might run across in the slash. But read the gen series in the order they were written (doesn't matter which author you start with) as they build just like the Geeks and Goons Guides build on one another. The time lines for the gen are pretty much set within the seasons they were written and the slash if a few years past that. Thanks again and hope you enjoy the gen fics as well!
