That's not all of humanity. That's not even a fraction of what humanity is. That's a drop in the ocean of the billions and billions of other brilliant things that humans do!

I'm not saying it's condonable. I'm not saying it's right. I'm saying you're wrong. Humanity's grown up just in the last fifty years of the 20th century, not to mention the rest of human history to come. You should learn from what mistakes humanity made, what horrible things they learned from!

But to damn all of humanity because of its past? To call it terrible because something that tragic happened dozens of years in your past? Doesn't that make you as bad as those who prejudiced against those they didn't understand who had a different skin color to theirs?

You have a point.

I will acknowledge that a huge chunk of this rant is me having a bad day, and my sister having to deal with a supposedly God-fearing man who's so fucked in the head that I don't even know where to start, but you do have a point in saying that damning them all is a bit harsh.

However, speaking as a possible potential victim of that aspect of humanity, I think I do have the right to acknowledge the fact that whatever small segment of humanity it is really does suck. I didn't witness it, but they strung up someone like me who for just happening to be what he was, and what that was was something not like them. They made an example out of his death, and that, in and of itself, is not fair.

He didn't hurt them, what right did they have to hurt him out of supposed fear?

Plus, don't get me started on the people who just turn the other cheek because they don't think there's anything they can do.

All of humanity victimized you?

Don't hate the whole species. There are certain people who should be brought to justice for hurting you. Certain people---[cringe]---suck, but! But but but! Not everyone. Not even a demographic or a selection.

In general, humans are brilliant. Frightened, sometimes. Stupid, sometimes. But brilliant little creative minds that grow and change and learn as long as others are there to help teach them what they're doing is wrong.
