Ryan was lying on her stomach flipping through channels when the phone rang. She stretched, snagging it with just the tips of her fingers then rolling it into her hand as she brought it to her ear.
"Yello,"she answered lazily, pausing her channel flipping.
"You need to get out of there now," he said, not even bothering with the preamble. If they knew where he was doing business, it wouldn't be all that hard for them to find her, and he wanted Ryan getting out in one piece. His voice was all soldier -- or at least more soldier than it had been in a while, and while on some levels that was a bit scary, it needed to be done.
"One of my clients sold me out to some government boys with guns -- I lost them, but they could be heading to you next."
"I think I'm in Hoboken?" he said with a frown as he glanced around, looking for a city sign. "I went for a swim in the Hudson and wound up on the Jersey side, but if that's not the case -- I'll make my way to Hoboken. Take my bike -- keys should be on the dresser."
He paused for a minute before glancing down at himself. "And can you grab me some clothes?"
