Lyle jumped when his phone beeped. He couldn't imagine who'd be sending him a text. He hadn't given any of the kids at his new school his number, and Mom and Dad were downstairs. Besides, they didn't text. Just called. He nervously opened his phone and read the message. His heart fluttered when he saw who it was. He looked furtively around his room, then slowly typed his reply.
