Learning how to drive boggles my mind.

The fact that thousands of people in massive fast-moving cars maneuver around each other every day, and accidents aren't everywhere, is completely amazing. When pedestrians walk across the street, they pass mere feet away from the bumpers of cars, and just blindly trust that the drivers won't run them over. ( Read more... )

Umm... I agree with 1. You'll get used to it.

But I also agree with 3. I dunno about the rest of the US, but California is actually pretty strict about licensing people. Which is good now that I think about it... as opposed to Taiwan which doesn't even give practical exams resulting in people who CONSIDER A RED LIGHT TO BE A FRICKIN GUIDELINE. SHEESH, I HATE GETTING ALMOST RUN OVER BY LEGITIMATELY BAD ASIAN DRIVERS. D:

hahaha I know what you mean! I always get nervous whenever I see pedestrians on the corner when I'm about to turn because they can walk out at any moment;;; I became a lot more careful crossing streets/biking in bike lanes after I started driving >_<

Driving is so much harder than it looks... so is parking :(
