I'm getting kind of burnt out by doing cakes for free. I know its free advertising, but everyone passes on the fact that I also did it as a gift... So, then no one wants to pay. I started out with grand plans for this baby shower cake for Saturday, but due to the fact that we don't have extra money right now, I am scaling down and not going for the

The way cakes are set up at the place I bought my shower cake, is the basic cake with wording and a few roses is a set price. Then every bow, extra flavors, use of fondant, have extra costs. YOu need to make a book with photos and then put prices under the cakes so if people see something they like, they know how much it costs and if they cant afford it, then you could give them suggestions on how to scale the cake they like back

i might have to start doing that. right now i just charge between 3 and 4 dollars a person. ya know more if the cake is more elaborate. and it SHOULD work except people try to scale back too much in the wrong ways and i don't want to look stupid.
