I was asked today by a close friend as to why I shipped Dramione. This friend was rather polite about it, so the entire rant below was not included in my explanation. The funny thing was, I never really thought as to why. Rather I just do. And then it made me think, why does anyone ship anything? Hey, it's my belief that any pairing in the fandom can work if you try hard enough. Any. (I made Remus/Dobby work and even look cute.) So there isn't any reason for Ship!Hate.

We could only work out Angry!Sex, not any fluffy!sex. (well, during school. the discussion didn't continue with after hogwarts relations)

Basically (if you feel too lazy to read the whole thread, which I won't disown you for) we figured it would be in character for, if Ron and Harry were shagging eachother, or otherwise too preoccupied with things to shag Hermione, and no one else at the school wanting to shag her either (besides Neville, that is) for being the bossy knowitall she is. So Draco shags her, to let out pent up sexual frustations, and to bite his thumb at Harry.

Excellent rant. The point of fanfic (as I see it, anyways) is to write what you see that the author doesn't cover. And, well, the other point is to have fun doing it.

Very true rant - but I've still got shipper hate. -shrugs- I hate Ron/Hermione, because I hate the character Ron and because I'm getting the impression the pairing may happen in canon. Not because of the shippers - I don't hate the shippers. They've got their reasons, as we all have. So it's just bitter stubborn resentment from a H/Hr shipper and Ron-hater XP

And thanks for reccing those fics - really liked the Azkaban one.

*applauds* Well said! I definitely agree. Although I have one ship in which I believes wholeheartedly, I'm still open to other ideas. Definitely. It annoys me how soome people can be so narrow-minded. *sighs*
