Ello everyone! I’m back from HK!!!!!!!
Actually I’m back for about a week or so already, but everyone knows about my chummy relationship with the procrastination bug right? Hahahahaha
Even though I’ve been back a week, today’s my first day at work. Nope, didn’t get the piggy virus but because of my work nature, I gotta self-quarantine for 7 days. Let’s just say that I didn’t really mind the 7 days quarantine lah….I did LOADS of slacking and lazing around. BUT, before anyone start tsk-ing at me, I did complete 2 assignments (1 was a nightmare in disguise and 1 was a 3.5k essay). I was actually a bit sad yesterday coz my self-quarantine has ended:( They should have like a 10-days quarantine policy or something like that…..I am such a lazy bum bum.
Anyways, HK was fun. It’s still as busy as I remembered. The airport is still disgustingly big. And with my kinda luck, the boarding gate for my flight home was right at the end of the airport, for both times…I think HK airport hates me :(
Sooooooo, being in HK, we did the whole 买东西,吃东西 thingy. But with 3 girls on the trip, I think we 买 more than we 吃. We had no self-restrain….AT ALL. I think we left them behind in Singapore when our flight left Changi airport.
Let’s see…I think I bought about 5 bags from Argyle centre (like our Far East), some clothes, 2 pairs of shoes and a few accessories. Before anyone start rolling their eyes, the bags were cheap man! They’re like the Bugis street kinda bags but all under 30SGD. How cheap is that??? I could have bought more bags if I wasn’t worrying about the weight of my luggage. Also bought stuff at H & M since they were having sale. Also bought a pair of Levis Ladies jeans at Citygate since it was cheap (130SGD for a pair of ladies jeans!!! Lulu said it’s about 180SGD in Sin…or was it more? Can’t remember). And, I bought a pair of cheap-ass Crocs for 6SGD….yah I know. SUPER CHEAP!!! I think they were factory rejects lah, coz the sizes printed at the sole of the shoe were all wrong…but who cares?
AND, I went a lil bit crazy at Coach. I think the total bill came up to about $1300…..SGD, not HKD. I know, I know. I dread the day my credit card bill arrives. Let’s see, I bought 1 for my sis (her 21st bday gift), 1 for my mum (for her bday and it was from the outlet store…but still!!) and 1 for myself (coz we all gotta pamper ourselves sometimes). So yah, 3 bags for $1300 is still ok I guess? I mean, 1 LV or Gucci bag is already around that price….yah I’m rationalizing and trying to justify my spendings…hahahaha. Oh yah, Ron and Lulu, my mum was ok with the red Coach bag…she said the colour is nice and can use for “新年”. And you know the cutesy one that I bought for myself? She said she can use that too!!! *faints*
We went up to the Big Buddha…via cable car….I swear the 2 girls are trying to induce a heart-attack in me or something. And the worse thing is, for the first 2 to 3 days that we were there, HK was having some mini storm/typhoon thingy where it rained majority of the day. Can you imagine being in a cable car with the rain and wind??? And my fear of heights??? I hate that 1 hour of cable car ride. Ron wanted to walk to the Wisdom path but we turned back after a while coz it looked like it was going to rain again…so Wisdom failure I guess. Maybe it’s a sign that we should be contented with the amount of wisdom we have now….hahaha. We went to Citygate to shop immediately after this…I know, we’re incorrigible :P
Did not go crazy at Disneyland though….the other 2 did (and I didn’t try to restrain them at all…hahaha…I’m so bad). I did not buy any cutesy biscuit tins AT ALL. So proud of myself!!! But then I did the whole crazy-over-biscuit-tin shit in the Tokyo Disneyland already…they’re all sitting happily in my cupboard now *sigh* Oh, and we missed the chance to take pictures with the Disney princesses and Chip & Dale. Poor Lulu and Ron were so disappointed. But yes, Disneyland HK pales in comparison to Disneyland Tokyo. Apparently, they’re expanding it (saw it on the HK news on the flight back to Sin). Frankly speaking, I’ll much rather go back to Tokyo where there’s Disney Sea as well.
Oh, in Disneyland, there’s this family (I think they’re from India) who tried to cut queue during the Winnie the pooh ride. MASSIVE FAILURE!!! The mother got told off by us and the ladies in front. So disgusting. We did not wait 30 mins in line for you to cut our queue ok?? Felt like giving the mother a slap and a kick…she acted like she’s not in the wrong. When the ladies in front of us realized that she cut queue, this stupid mother had to cheek to say “After you” to them!!! Bloody hell!!! We’re transparent issit?? Since when are you suddenly queuing in front of us? Were you wearing Harry Potter’s invisibility cloak the whole time??? Anyway, us and the 2 ladies in front basically told her to her face that she’s not “after them”…in fact, I don’t know who she’s after. So irritating *stabs*
Moving on to happier things. Macau…is still Macau lor. Nothing much has changed. We went to the ultra beautiful Venetian Hotel. Although rooms might be expensive (I’m assuming since it looks so posh and all), it’ll be worth it to stay for like 1 night or so. Lulu was able to identify the exact bridge where the Korean Shan Cai & Dao Ming Shi broke up (I showed my sis the pics and she confirmed it as well….these girls are crazy). We also went up to Macau Towers when I had many mini heart-attacks trying to take pictures of me standing on the see-through floor tiles. Me + see-through floor tiles + height = heart-attacks. Yah I know, I’m asking for it lah.
So yes, life goes on in Hong Kong. If anyone wants to go for a holiday, I’ll say to just go ahead with plans. The piggy flu is here to stay and frankly speaking, I think it’s stupid to cancel traveling plans. Especially when it’s spreading like nobody’s business here…so just go!! Though just make sure that you made the necessary precautions (hand sanitizer, masks, vit c etc).
Oh, and the only time we wore masks was when we were in HK airport when we just arrived. After that, I just couldn’t be bothered.
