So as you all know, I've been takin Life Drawing

I had the opportunity to steal Hamid's camera last night
and take some nice photos of some of the pieces I'm putting in my portfolio for the final, and a couple more that I really like.

tell me what ya'll think.

First, just some gestures...

and some contours...

(I really like this one)

Some pencil sketches:

(foreshortening...)

(semi-foreshortening...)

I'm mad, I had a really nice pencil sketch of this guys head (same guy as below with the hands) and I really liked it, but it's disapeared. I think he MIGHT have taken it out and forgot to tell me, but... I have no idea. I really liked it too, I really want to find it.
But this was the guy... I think this is like, Red Conte? or maybe soft (not oil) pastel, I have no idea. but itwas fun to work with:

I used Charcoal quite a bit, I have a lot more drawings but none that I felt crazy enough about to photograph:

(I'm not crazy about the messed up proportions but I like the way the charcoal looks here.)

(not in love with this one, the composition is fucked up, but we needed one foot thing in our final portfolio and this was the best I had cuz we only did feet for a day.)

(some crazy foreshortening)

(this one went fast, but I kinda dug it)

(one of my best charcoals, I like the composition..)

(probably the tightest (as in the shadows are really solid, the strokes aren't all squigly.. not as in, "THATS TIGHT!") drawing I did, at least with charcoal, it was a nice change... but I like the looser ones too.)

and probably my favorites, the pastels. Oddly enough they're all of the same model, cuz she came two seperate days and I was really into pastels on both days, because they were two successive weeks for me (since I missed a week for SATS)

(my first attempt to use pastels for this particular class, getting into the groove of things)

(the photograph on this one got really fucked up, I don't know why.. there was like, a dark rectangle only over the part that was the lady. I kind of dig the way it looks, but the real colors are supposed to look like this:)

and finally..

My Last picture for the semester! Monochromatic blue pastel, yay.

Last class is Saturday, and I only go in to turn in my portfolio. I need to finish the pose that I didn't... fully make up. IT should be interesting, I'll have to not procrastinate on that this week.

I'm so glad I took it, I think I grew... a LOT. It was a really good experience. I wanna take Life Painting, but I have to check on the prerequisit shit.
