Actually, St. Valentine was a priest at the temple during the reign of Emperor Claudius. Claudius ordered Valentine to no longer marry couples, because he felt that his army would be stronger if its' men did not have families to come back to. Valentine defied Claudius, and married people anyway. He was tortured and finally killed. We celebrate St. Valentine's Day in the Spring, when the birds first start to pairbond.

So, it actually is a pretty cool holiday, even if I am lonely right now.

But if it makes you feel better, Lousia, February 15th is "Break Up Day", where the most break ups happen all year. It is assumed that people would rather be with someone on Valentine's Day than no one, then break up when the holiday is over.

Remember to think of all those broken hearts as you wake up smiling the next day.

...

Yeah, I know that was a lot, but I'm pretty stoned right now.

i always wake up smiling thinking about people breaking up-and who's to say i need "feeling better?"

i just don't celebrate some headless guy of dubious existence to mean a day of love. but there's a place for the crap ("love") in every life, so i celebrate st. sebastian's day. the comic was a slightly amusing way to inform others of my crazy antics.

oh and as i don't intend on celebrating valentine's day, i probably won't be celebrating "Break Up Day." as amusing as it sounds...ha.

double oh, and as long as there is breath in my body-you'll never have to be alone if you don't want to be...wink, wink.

Dammit! Thanks to you posting that, the semi-musical brain has just created (without my consent) new lyrics to "cupid, draw back your bow" that are about the Exodus. Thanks. I didn't need that running through my head today.

(I'll leave the actual song to your imagination)
