Hah, I was just telling maldito that you Canadians say "holidays" instead of "vacation." What's the difference between the two for you guys?

When someone says "holidays" it's like for an occasion to celebrate.

When I am not working it's an occasion to celebrate lol. I call time off holidays if I was going some where I'd call that a vacation. I can't speak for all Canadians but the difference for me is:

Holidays: time off away from work to do stuff at home
Vacation: sitting on a beach drinking Caronas & not lifting a finger.

I am not at work that's really all that matters!
