It's always a sad day when you find pets in pain and are faced with a tough decision like that.
A few months back I was informed that my cat back in Newfoundland (Bozo) was put down after dropping most of his weight suddenly and the vet discovering that his liver and kidneys were basically shutting down.
I cried like a bitch at the news, but knew that Bozo was better off this way. He was always an active cat (even at 14 years old, same age as Babe) and for my parents to see him suddenly lifeless and thin was hard on them.
Looking back, Im glad that he was put down then having his life dragged out knowing that he'd be in pain and never the same again.
I wish Twiggy all the best, but at the same time I hope you don't keep the cat in pain (if it is in pain, that is) for the sake of keeping your pet alive.
