It's a lovely simple 'threes' recipe - take 3oz of plain flour, 3oz of rolled oats, 3oz of brown sugar - put in a bowl with a half teaspoon of Bicarb of soda.

Put 3oz butter, a tablespoon of Golden Syrup and a tablespoon of rum into a small saucepan, melt together. Pour the result into the bowl, mix.

Roll tablespoonsfull of the result into balls, put on greased baking trays and bake (at Gas Mark 3) for 23 minutes.

Ooh, thanks! I was just going to ask for the recipe. We have some spiced rum which has been sitting in the back of our cupboard ever since we discovered it was incredibly sweet. Making it into biscuits might be a very good use of it.
