Creating the perfect Pokemon team

Hypothetically speaking, imagine that you bred 6 perfect pokemon with the specific Ev's required all the way up to level 100.

So what makes a perfect team? One of the key benefactors, (IMO), is diversity. Over the past few months of playing netbattle, I've come to realize that people tend to diversify their pokemon team, (meaning different TYPES of pokemon all in the same team).

You may have already known this but understand that most OU pokemon have 2 types rather than just one. Let's take this OU team for an example:
Tyranitar (Rock / Dark)
Lucario (Steel/Fighting)
Heatran (Fire/Steel)
Weavile (Ice/Dark)
Salamence (Dragon/Flying)
Scizor (Bug/Steel)

An amazing powerhouse team right? Tyranitar, Heatran, and Salamence are all massive yet feared pokemon with some support of some agile yet brutal pokemon such as Weavile, Lucario and Scizor.

Ah, but there's one HUGE problem...
Tyranitar, Lucario, Weavile and Heatran are all weak against Fighting attacks. Extremely vulnerable for a quick wipe out from just one pokemon with quick fighting attacks. Kiss your team goodbye!

There's another problem.
Lucario, Heatran and Tyranitar are all weak against Ground attacks as well. An Aerodactyl with Earthquake will immediately destroy all 3 pokemon = One Hit Knock outs.

Wouldn't you know it; there's yet another problem.
Lucario, Scizor, and weavile are all weak against Fire attacks. Are you understanding?

In Competitive battling, you seriously need to put your "favorite" pokemons away and store them on your PC and focus on pokemon that leave a vital mark in the world of competitive battling. Don't bother using a pikachu because he'll get his ass wiped out.

It is also imperative to understand all your pokemon's weaknesses. If your team has 3 or more pokemon with one certain weakness, then it's time for you to make an adjustment. Competitive Pokemon trainers focus on pokemon with at least 2 or less pokemon with a specific weakness. It's difficult but people tend to manage.

Next up; pokemon to use as a lead.
