Night Court is airing on TV Land....
When I was a wee lass, I had many crushes. Dusty from G.I. Joe. Bumble Bee from the Transformers. I can remember at age four telling my great aunt that I thought Kermit was sexy. But my first LOVE was Judge Harry T. Stone from Night Court. I was nine and completely in love. He had an amazing sense of humor, but that's not exactly what won my heart over. He saw the people who crossed through his court room as people. Rather than hardened criminals, he knew they were just a little down on their luck. He had a criminal past as well. He had been there. I was so mesmerized by him that I began writing my first fanfic. Many crushes and loves came after. Joe from Facts of Life. Stringfellow Hawk on Airwolf. Really, too many to name. But Harry was the first and still holds a special place in my heart.
I watched the Night Court marathon over the weekend. I realized all of the things I used to love about him then I still love. Some shows you simply cannot go back to. As much as it pains me to say, 21 Jump Street is not as good as I remember. Night Court, though, still has my heart. I am not in the least bit ashamed to admit I have started a story. I doubt it will be my last. It's a little bit like returning home again.
