title: The man of her dreams

summary: In their third year Mamori suddenly finds herself being soppy on a new student. Meanwhile Hiruma has work to do in America. How will he react when he returns?
Party Party
They arrived at the party a few minutes after leaving the station. The big castle-like building upraised in front of them to the already darkened sky. The big doors stood open and they could see students coming in and out from the building.
“Inside” Komusubi said.
“Yes, you are right. We should go inside and have a look if the rest of the team has arrived. The Huh brothers said they would be there around 9pm.” Kurita replied.
“Late” Komusubi exclaimed.
“No we’re not too late. It’s only ten past nine.” Hiroki reassured the small lineman. No one seemed surprised that the new lineman understood Power-Go.
“Ahahaha” Taki added senselessly.
They entered the building and were met by an unexpected sight. The Oujou School’s art club obviously felt destined to decorate the school rooms where the party took place with little knights and other medieval things and images. They themselves were dressed like knights, princesses, kings and other persons they thought to have shown up in medieval times. It looked a bit weird and Mamori had to choke laughter a few times. However, not everyone from their group was that polite.
“Kekeke, now they totally went bananas in Oujou” Hiruma laughed himself to tears.
“Bananas?” Monta shrieked. He had not been listening but reacted by instinct to a special word.
Mamori gave Hiruma a reproaching look.
“Huh” Komusubi said, pointing in a direction. This was exceptionally something every one of them understood. Cheerfully, they greeted the three Huh-brothers who approached them. Mamori used the commotion caused by the reunion to slip off to search for Ako and Sara.
It didn’t take her long. She found them on the second stage where some second years from the White Knights Football team had gathered as well. Mamori passed Shin and Sakuraba, gave them a polite nod and went to a small group where she had made out her friends. Sara, Ako and a lanky but well-toned boy with brown tousled hair were talking to ….Musashi?
“Musashi?” she called out.
“Hello there. Is the rest of the team already here?” he asked, smiling.
Mamori nodded in response.
“Mamori” her two friends exclaimed and waved her.
“Mamori, this is Kaito” Sara introduced her to the shock-headed guy.
“Hello, nice to meet you” she bowed politely.
“Nice to meet you, too” he said, imitating her bow. “You are the former manager of the Devilbats, aren’t you? I’m going to be their new kicker” he announced proudly.
“Oh you are?” Mamori replied.
“Keito has played for the soccer team until he had a row with someone there. We have been practising our kicks together since elementary school, so I asked him since he’s younger than me” Musashi told her.
“I don’t get along with this Satoshi Muro guy.” Kaito explained to no one in particular.
“That’s great. I’m glad that you decided to join the team. Well, I don’t want to be rude but I’ve got to look for someone” Mamori said, looking expectantly at Sara and Ako. They both shook their head to indicate they hadn’t seen Sakamoto.
“See you later” she said and left. She did not want to disappear so abruptly but she wanted to find Sakamoto before Hiruma appeared to mess up everything. She made a few steps, stopped dead in her tracks and thought: ‘Musashi and Ako…?’ So her two girl friends fell for kickers…? Interesting… She giggled under her breath.
Mamori went looking for Sakamoto on all three stages. Every time she spotted someone who resembled him her heart began beating with anticipation and when she eventually approached and realized that it wasn’t him disappointment filled her. During her search she had to dodge people dressed as white knights (not the American Football team but real knights with papier-mâché armour) because they were apparently unable to see through the ventails of their helmets. When another half-blind knight came her way she pressed herself against the wall to let him pass. Watching the costumed guy walking away, she suddenly spotted Sakamoto. Handsome as always, he was sitting on a bench wearing a black shirt and trousers. He was absorbed in a conversation and hadn’t noticed her yet.
Mamori mustered all her courage and approached him. How as she about to start the conversation? ‘Hey, how are you? Haven’t seen you for … hours.’ Geez, this was bad. ‘Hello, we know each other because we are in the same class.’ As if he did not know that. She was almost there. ‘Ok, just greet him’, she thought.
“He-“ she began. Then her voice failed her. She stood there gaping at the scene that was taking place in front of her.
Sakamoto had suddenly leaned forward to kiss a black-haired girl. Mamori hadn’t even realized her until now. She was clad in a pink showy dress, looking like the worst princess imitation Mamori could imagine.
“He… he..llo…?” the confused brunette stumbled.
Sakamoto and the princess were kissing passionately, apparently not noticing what was happening around them. Mamori stood there, petrified, until finally comprehension hit her. Her eyes watered.
‘I have to get out of here’ she thought and turned around only to bump into Suzuna and Sena.
“Hello Sena, hello Suzuna” Mamori faked a smile. “Nice to meet you”
“Hello Mamori-neechan” Sena greeted her, noticing nothing at all.
“I’m sorry but I have to leave… I have to go…somewhere” Mamori apologized and rushed away.
Suzuna understood what was going on when she got sight of the kissing couple. Although the older girl had never told her about her affection for him Suzuna had known that she liked Sakamoto She turned around to follow the former manager but Mamori had already disappeared.
The half-blind knight who had passed Mamori fumbled with his helmet. Finally, he succeeded in pulling it off. He watched the red dressed girl hurry away. Enough with the following, she needed some time alone. From one of his pockets he produced a camera (with a school property sticker on it) and crept over to the couple.
Click.
Sakamoto and the princess blinked.
“What has just happened?” Sakamoto asked confused.
But the White Knight had already left.
‘Haven’t reckoned that you would be playing on my team, fucking pretty boy’ he thought ‘but that won’t keep me from blackmailing you, kekeke.’

I don't like to pair all the characters but I wanted to show that Mamori can be kind of clueless sometimes ^^ It's like in the manga when she does not notice that Suzuna does not feel like a sister to Sena at all.
Hiruma would definitely follow Mamori but I figured that he would know when she needed some time alone.
I wasn't able to read through it as many times as I did with the other chapters, hope I still found all mistakes^^
Aaaaaaaaaaaand I tried some word plays :3
