Love it! I was so surprised by the ending with Klaus offering to let her go free, but it's great. I'm sad Caroline isn't going to college... but really, of course she's not, the whole vampire thing kind of negates it :). The bit about Magda was great -- of course Klaus has lived long enough to repeat the same kind of relationships, very interesting. The downside of eternity. Also love Jealous!Caroline and the slow build to more between them. Very nice.

Thanks so much! This chapter was very much filler/transition, so I'm glad it's being so well-received. It was also designed as a direct contrast to the previous chapter, where Caroline was building this fantasy wold about being a vampire -- she needed a knock back to reality, a ride that's going to continue through the next part.
