okay guys, I'm going to copy nicole. i've gotten into drew, muhlenberg, lafayette, connecticut college, and bates. ive narrowed it down to connecticut and bates, and am leaning towards bates, but i'm not positive. any comments/ opinions/ knowledge would be helpful! here are some notable comparisons ( Read more... )

The college board has information concerning overall racial diversity (by %). And RETENTION RATES are important, too -- if only 60% of freshmen return for sophomore year, there must be a reason why! In fact, retention rate is probably the best indicator of how much people like being there. That's very important. And see about their internship opportunities maybe.

Also, you're not going to spend 100% of your time ON CAMPUS, especially if it's a small LAC. Check out the city/town, too! (For example, in early 2007, there were 43 registered sex offenders living in Richardson, Tx, and 241 living in Appleton, Wi... and Appleton has a significantly lower total population!)

See who the local representative is for those two places, if you're planning on voting there.
