I turned the sound off on AIM a long time ago. Don't worry dear, they can easily be turned off.

oh yeah, i hate aim sounds too. thats why i turned mine off. tehy are sooooo goddamn annoying.

As it has been said by many wise men (and women) before me: TURN THE DAMN THINGS OFF! I don't even remember that AIM has sound anymore....turn it off before you break something.
