I just uploaded some pics of the little stray cat I found the other week. He was put to sleep last Thursday at the cat haven. Poor little guy, the tumor he had was just massive. I was so upset. You can't really see in the pictures just how thin he was because of the long hair, but I was able to touch my index finger and thumb together in a circle ( Read more... )

OMG! I was trying to pm you and mistakenly came across this entry of yours. I know it's so old news, but it made me SO sad. Poor little guy. Some entities really have no luck in life...
But maybe he was lucky in the end, because you helped him suffer less. Jeez, I'm so touched.

Ah, Little Man (that's what we dubbed him while he was with us). I can still remember the feeling of his fur, it was kinda matted and oily-ish, like he hadn't been able to give himself a good bath in ages, he was also pretty smelly. It was very hard to get a photo of him because he wanted to love you and cuddle all the time. He was given a buperenorphine shot for his time with us to take care of any pain the lump was causing while we looked to see if we could find out if he had owners and what we could do with him, but despite all his poor luck, he was so awesome. He obviously hadn't eaten well in the past, but when he started to eat, he had the tinniest of little poos! We kept him in our computer room away from our other cats because he was obviously sick, and we also didn't want to upset our guys. But he was the perfect gentleman, he used his litter box, and ate really well (it was nice to see him eat well, it looked like he needed it). The tumor was pretty much too far gone to even consider treating him, so letting him go ( ... )

Hello, thank you for your comments. A while ago I pretty much deleted all my journal entries, but I couldn't let this one go. He was just an amazingly beautiful cat, and it was a terribly sad situtation that anyone could have let him get like that knowingly.

I ended up getting a job at the shelter we took him too a couple of years after this entry. And knowing now first hand what happens in cases like this, I was relieved he would have been given a gentle and compassionate passing. He was so sweet and brave through the whole time we had him.
