About me
I find this sort of post cringetastically difficult, but here goes.
This is me:
And this is my bike, which I have named Vimes, after the main character in Terry Pratchett's Night Watch:
Why yes, that is a bike light stuck to the handlebars with sticky tape. Necessity, etc. etc. I am still waiting to buy some proper pedals, too, but all in good time.
I live in rural Belgium with my husband and our son. We're in Limburg, which has some of the nicest cycling routes I've ever seen, and we haven't even begun to explore them all!
Aside from cycling, I also work - part time in financial admin (my day job), and part time as a freelance proofreader and editor. I would eventually like to go full time with the freelancing, but that's going to take a while yet.
In my spare time, I like to hang out with my family, read, cycle (of course), garden, write, and dabble a (very little) bit in art. I'd also like to learn how to fly, and I lurk around the outer perimeter of a local flying club with this in mind, but it's not on the cards just yet.
I'm quite determined to get to the top of Mont Ventoux.
