Thank you. I am virtually positive they won't give me a card, but maybe I can work with my parents to get one. Are you SURE they don't check about the businesses? And you don't have to prove anything? For real?

I swear to God and I'm 100% sure. My dad has gotten many free plane rides for his friends this way. Not only will it not hurt your parents credit score it will improve it. They only have to buy something that cost $1 and pay that off. Then cancel. It shows up on their credit score as a perfect credit record with Delta Gold because they never had to pay interest.

You mom can say she makes quilts or something and then give it a name. Fine Quilts. No one checks. And it will help her credit score in the long run. It is a beautiful loop hole my father found. My father is like a slick mouse when it comes to find corperate loop holes. :) And it is 100$ legal.

My mom actually does have a business - Sea of Glass. She makes stained glass. My dad owns a construction company, so could surely get a card very easily.

Well, it turns out American Express won't give me anything at all. I did, however, manage to get two Mastercards, which should at least allow me to purchase a ticket. I've worked out a balance-transfer and repayment system that should actually improve my credit at the same time, by giving me smaller balances on more cards rather than one card with a large balance. I've read that credit score is figured in part on how much room you have on each card. Also, if I pay $100 on one card and the minimum or slightly more on the rest every month, and hold my spending way down, it should work well, I think ( ... )

That is great news. I would save the tickets for now. I don't think he is at risk of dying right now. And it would be very upsetting if you went and were hardly allowed to see him. I do think they allow friends in ICU to visit. They did with my mom, who died in a new york city hospital, and they do with a friend we visit who is in ICU right now.
But.. if it were me.. I would wait. But do what you think is right.

Yes, I spoke with him this morning and he doesn't want me to visit while he's in the hospital. However, the nurse did say that anyone is allowed to visit people in ICU, so you're right about that.
