I couldn't have said it better myself, what a quack. Some more highlights: "I went to BC, and since they're all rich kids there, and the rich kids can afford the cocaine, they were all doing it!" "My mom died! (impossible segway into baseball) And my daughter is at Harvard!" Walk forward, walk back, walk forward, walk back ... it's almost hypnotic ... Say no to drugs. End of story. No need to patronize an auditorium full of jumpy seniors whose closest experience with drugs is the "Tyrone" skit from Chappelle's Show.

Okay, first of all, I thought he was much better than any other guy the school could have invited. second, obviously neither of you listened because both have the quotes wrong. Maybe if someone would have stopped talking they would have heard some stuff...it would have been hard for the guy's kids to get into Harvard considering they were both under the age of 10. I don't understand why people put up such a guard when someone is trying to talk to them about drugs. why is it so hard to just listen? ugh.
Awareness about drugs is important, but I really do feel THIS speaker was wasting our time.lilanimalMay 14 2005, 18:06:11 UTC
About the quotes. He did not actually say "in the deepest part of my soul." I believe thats all thats wrong with the first one. The second one is paraphrased but acurate. In the third one he threw in poverty and uneployment before unwanted pregnancy. For the last one I honestly had no clue where the man was going. If you could clarify it for me, I will change it.
Also, if you feel that he said anything about drugs that we students have not heard before, and which Josh and I may not have heard, please feel free to inform me.
I bet you that guy was nothing in comparison to the crazy italian man they brought into my school as a "motivational speaker." Dont you get me started on that.
