Be prepared for a long, long report... >D
It started at 3:30 AM: The sound of the radio, which was my alarm clock. But I was awake instantly: Today, I was gonna see Moi dix Mois!!
I couldn't quite believe it, it was as if it wasn't really going to happen. It was something I still can't truly get a grip on.
Anyway, I went happily to the bathroom to do my make-up. Which failed miserably over and over again. I was quite nervous and wanted it to be perfect, but it turned out much less than perfect. When I was finally done, there were only 15 minutes left for dressing and packing the last little things!
I wore my Baby The Stars Shine Bright lolita dress, with a black shirt with puffy sleeves underneath. I wish I could've worn Moi-même-Moitié, but at that time it was still too expensive for me, and I feared that I wouldn't fit into those tiny Moitié sizes.
Out of hurry, I forgot to put on the hairbow to match my dress. But it was okay, looking back I disliked the hairbow anyway.
We (me and
cresentdragon) only just managed to catch our train. In Utrecht, we had to switch trains, and we had to wait for nearly an hour before our next train would depart.
It was so cold! I only wore the lolita dress and knee-high socks. I didn't have bloomers yet back then, so it was really very cold. I wished so hard for a maillot at that moment. And it wouldn't be the last time that day.
When we finally arrived in Germany, we got some terribly bad news: Germany was hit with a train strike!
Many train drivers didn't go to work that day. I was so worried: What if our train wouldn't run? What if we weren't able to get to Krefeld? The train station was so deserted, and the announcements concerning the strike were going on endlessly.
I was already near tears. This couldn't be happening, I would be missing out on one of the few oppertunities I'd ever get to see Mana-sama ;___;
I must have been awful company at that point, because was like: "The world hates me, it's just always me." and "They need to go, they need to run for Mana-sama. Mana-sama will make them run, he is God. Please please please please!!"
I've never been so lucky in my entire life, because: the train to Krefeld didn't join with the strike! It felt as if my prayers were answered. I've rarely felt so relieved in my entire life!
So traveling went fine, after all~
Feel the power of Mana-sama! The power of dix Love!!
When we arrived in Krefeld, we needed to find our hotel. After some looking around, we found it. It was practically next to the train station.
So we went inside, to the reception. But they rudely told us they were closed at the moment, and that we could pay in the hall. So they sent us back there, followed by a staff member who locked the door of the hotel once we were out. Talk about being rude...
It appeared you needed to pay with a creditcard, but we didn't have one. Their website had literally told us: "Pay in cash at arrival", so we had counted on that.
We were doomed, we couldn't pay for our reservation, and there was no way we could get back in again because they had locked the door.
Defeated, we went to look for another hotel, which soon was found.
We lost twice as much money, but the people were very friendly. The woman of the reception was like: "Ah, you're going to the Kulturfabrik too?"
She probably could tell because of our appearance XD
we rent an apartment, because all rooms they had were already reserved. We didn't have much choice! I guess we were lucky though, because we had the last affordable apartment! It was nice.
Next, we finally could make our way to the Kulturfabrik~!
Luckily I remembered the name of the street. So we soon found it, around 1:30 PM... only to find out that there were only like 10 people or something. I had at least expected a queue, if even a small one, but not... only a few people!
I didn't complain though. In fact, I was still worried I wouldn't be able to stand in the front, even though there were so few people.
Anyway, the waiting began... the weather wasn't really at our side. It was sun-rain-sun-rain-sun-rain all the time.
So after a while, I got really cold because of the rain, and my bare legs... I couldn't feel my toes anymore, and I started to feel sick.
That really sucked. Why now? Why, out of all moments, when I'm going to see Moi dix Mois? Made me a little sad.
Time passed, we met some nice people ^^ There were pretty much lolita's from the Netherlands, and we made a deal that we would try to get to the front at Mana's side all together.
Totally positive about our plan, we waited, until the gate unlocked...
And once it did, it was like a race to the finish: I sprinted to the entrance of the venue, forgetting that
Cresentdragon still carried my ticket with him. Thankfully he managed to catch up with me, and give it to me. Before the gate had unlocked, I had given my coat to him, so he could bring it to the wardrobe and I could make my way to the hall instantly. But I was halted: "Mon+Amour members first."
DAMNIT!
So we had to wait another half an hour, until all MA members were in. Luckily I was the third in line of the "normal" attendees, so I was positive I would find a nice place.
When the door to the hall finally was loose, I ran as hard as I could to the stage, Mana's side.
Second row!! SCORE!
It was all fine -except for the fact that there was a really tall person right in front of me with HUGE hair- until a German girl wriggled herself in between me and a Dutch girl I had met.
She was annoying as HELL! Fanning herself all the time with her stupid little fan, acting all innocent while squishing me to jelly.
Anyway, I just tried to ignore her.
We had to wait a little more before the band would get on stage, but I was getting more nervous with every second that passed. Reality started to dawn upon me: There I was, standing in that hall, a huge banner with the Moi dix Mois logo hanging behind the stage... I could already see Mana's Jeune Fille standing on the stage, which made me squee out of excitement. I was really there, Mana was really there... I would really get to see them.
I could feel my heart beating in my chest.
After waiting for an hour or so, the lights dimmed, and there was smoke everywhere... they would soon get on stage!
And then... Sacred Lake started playing! I was beyond excited at that point. I felt as if I was lacking eyes, I didn't want to miss a thing!
First, Hayato entered the stage, followed by Sugiya. Next was K, and he was so tall! And then, quite unexpectedly, it was Mana-sama's who got on stage.
I couldn't believe it, he walked up to the front of the stage, until he was at maybe 1 meter away from me. He was so close, and so real! It was so strange to finally see him in real life, and not on a screen or a picture. He was really there, at that very moment, standing in front of me.
I couldn't believe it, for a moment all I could do was just stand there, with my hands covering my mouth out of amazement. It's Mana-sama! The man I admire so much, the man whose music I listen to every day, the man whose music means so much to me, the man who helped me to find a piece of myself, and who helped me to find beauty in life: MANA-SAMA!
My heart fluttered and my stomach jumped. It was real.
... I didn't notice Seth coming on stage anymore because Mana stole all my attention.
The first thing I noticed after my 'Mana-shock', was: Hey, they're wearing their black outfits. I really thought they would be wearing the white ones, since Mana had said on his website that those were his favourites.
I think the first song they played was Metaphysical. I got so excited when they started playing. Finally, I would be able to hear Mana's guitar, his voice. Right here, and right now. But sadly, I couldn't truly enjoy it.
One: because I was totally squished between the people.
Two: because the girl next to me was trying to sing along with the song, but to me, it was more like yelling it in my ear.
I totally couldn't hear Seth anymore! Which sucked, I wanted to hear him so bad! But I really don't remember a thing of the entire song ;___;
Well, I couldn't hear him during Metaphysical, but I loved the first part of Last Temptation, when you only hear the organs and Seth's voice. It was at moments like those that you could clearly hear his voice, and how beautiful it was <3 He's a very, very good vocalist. And handsome, too. It was good that he was wearing his black outfit, I love that one much better than the white one. The shape of it is much more elegant, and with the belt around his waist it's just too beautiful <3
At least, that's my opinion.
During Neo Pessimist, Mana did the sign with his hand across his face at the word "Pessimist!"
It was so great, I've seen it countless of times on the dvd's, and now I've seen him doing it for real *_____* I don't know, I loved it because he always did that, and now he still does.
Dispell Bound was so much fun, with the ceremonial poses!
Before they played the actual song, K gave us a small lesson about how to do it. He was so funny!
"First word: D!" and he held his right hand in front of his face with the dix sign ( \m/ )
"Second word: I!" and he put his hand in the air, like the regular dix sign.
"Third word: X!" And the crossed his arms in front of his face.
The last move was to bring down the 'X' to your chest.
After every new move, he asked: "Okay?" And we were like: "Okay!"
It was so funny how he called them words instead of letters XD But he did a very good job regardless, he made himself understandable for everyone. He was awesome.
Of course, Mana-sama and Seth also joined the ceremonial pose while practicing, which was nice to see! But during the 'real thing' Mana had to play the guitar. I don't remember if K played the guitar too... my eyes were all over Mana again.
They played Immortal Madness one time at first, me shouting "Dix Sight!" along with them.
After that, K asked us to all yell "dix Love!" instead, as hard as we could (or, as he pronounced it: dix Rove XD).
It was so much fun! Everybody was shouting "DIX LOVE!!"
But still, K wasn't satisfied. So they kept playing it over and over again. They continued for quite a long time, and I have heard that some found it boring. But I just kept screaming louder and louder.
I had so much fun doing it ^^
When they announced Angelica I was so happy! I think that's my favourite song of the Dixanadu album. I love the contrast between the heavier and slower parts, it's just amazing. It was beyond words live.
I remember they played Xanadu during the encore. I love that song so much. Hayato's drums were so powerful! Much more than on cd. I loved it.
And of course, Seth's voice was amazing. Such a beautiful song <3 And live, it's just brilliant.
Besides the Dixanadu songs, they also played a few older songs. One of them being Night Breed, I'm sure.
And of course Perish was awesome, I loooove the way how Mana 'scratched' the snares of Jeune Fille with his guitar pick <3 Also, I just love the power of that song. One of Mana's best, in my opinion. I'm so glad he did a remake on the Lamentful Miss single, so they still play it over and over again.
The cross of his guitar blinking during this song... and it was so amazing, it made me scream on the top of my lungs! Mana was so proud of his guitar, you could clearly see he was.
I do feel a bit stupid for only looking at Mana-sama though, because I wanted to see Seth's snake-like dancing! I had heard that he did that during Perish. But I totally forgot, and focused solely on Mana.
I don't remember if they played Unmoved, but I'm sure they must have played it. I especially wanted to hear it live, with the twin guitars. It's one of my favourite songs! Then why don't I remember? ;___;
I do remember they played Forbidden. I screamed with them as hard as I could: "my Dis! Your Dis!"
During that song, K came to Mana's side of the stage, and he was so scary! I think I kind of backed away from the stage at that point. He was just so tall and intimidating!
That's basically all I can remember. My memory is so bad!
They went off stage after the encore with the same song as when they came on stage: Sacred Lake. I can't describe the feeling of seeing them leaving one by one. At one side, I was still very excited and happy about the concert, but at the other side, I was so sad because I just knew: This was it. They're gone...
I felt a little empty after they had left the stage, and the lights went on again. I just stood there, staring at the empty stage, not wanting it to be over yet, not wanting to leave yet...
Here are some more random facts which I noticed, or which happened throughout the concert...
Except for Perish, I don't really remember when Mana's guitar was blinking, but he was oh so very proud of it. Sometimes, it seems as if he's pretty rough with his guitars, but when he lifted Jeune Fille above his head so we could admire her, he lifted her very carefully, and held her as if she could feel the way he treated her.
It was good to see he loves his guitars so much ^^
Also, he liked teasing the crowd. He was swinging Jeune Fille over the audience a lot of times, but always a little too far away to be touched.
But he did let the audience touch her multiple times. I wasn't able to touch her though, unfortunately. But at least I could admire her, she was beautiful.
Yes, I'm referring to that guitar as 'she', because I'm pretty sure Mana does that, too. He didn't name her 'Jeune Fille' without a reason now, did he?
Mana-sama also threw quite a few picks in the crowd. Now, I don't know if he just wanted to first row to have the picks, or if he's lazy or cannot throw, but they didn't land any further than the second row, maybe the third. Most of them landed in the first row.
I wonder if he did that on purpose, because the first row were Mon+Amour people.
Oh well, I didn't manage to catch one, sadly.
Some of K's guitar picks landed way into the back of the crowd. Those people were lucky.
The atmosphere of the concert wasn't too good, especially not in the beginning. And it wasn't because of the band. It was because of the audience.
After a few songs, people started pushing more and more, and hell broke loose. People started yelling at each other, and it was one big chaos. I suddenly couldn't get any air anymore, it was terrifying. I was literally gasping for air, and I kinda panicked. The screaming and pushing around me became too much. That was when they realized they'd gone too far. They stopped pushing me, but it didn't help immediately. I was just shaking on my legs. Everything was sort of blurry, but I saw Mana-sama in front of me, and was like: 'No, I cannot give up, I need to hold on. I don't want to give up!'
Cresentdragon was standing behind me to support me. I think that I would've collapsed if he wouldn't have done that.
It was him and Mana-sama who kept me upright ^^
After that, I let myself being pushed to the back, I didn't have the energy anymore to fight against that damned girl that kept pushing me. I need to do this just for myself: FUCK YOU, YOU EGOISTICAL BITCH!
There were a lot of people like that though. Not caring about being in front of the doors of the concert hall very early to be able to get in the front, not caring about other people being pushed and squished because of them, as long as they can make their way to the front.
Well, even if I was one row further back, where I had lots of space (which was very convenient during the ceremonial poses XD), I managed to touch Mana-sama *_________*
I touched Mana!!
He reached his hand out to the audience, and people of course started touching him right away. And so did I. I caressed his arm (the fabric of his shirt felt really nice). I didn't even realize I was actually touching him, it just happened. Just like that. And when I did realize it, I searched for his hand, and could just feel his guitar pick between his fingers <3 His hand was really warm, and definitely manly, and strong.
It was very strange to realize that he, too, has warm hands. I don't know what I'd been thinking, that he had cold hands? But somehow, I was surprised because his hand was warm!
It was as if it was only me and him for a moment. I didn't feel any hands of other fans in my way, I only felt his arm, his hand. It seemed to last for eternity, but I guess in reality it must have been a just short moment.
Anyhow, I touched him! *fangirlish squee*
Also, he really looked his fans into the eyes. How amazing is that? Not many artists look their fans in the eyes.
His eyes were so beautiful, and they sparkled a very deep blue... which once more made me realize that he really was there, that his eyes were sparkling in the lights of this very stage.
At one moment, he suddenly was looking me into the eyes in such an intensive way. It seemed so surreal, so strange. I realized that he was actually looking at me, that he saw me. His eyes seemed to pierce right through my soul. I guess it's not wonder that I got... shy? Uncomfortable? I don't know what it was exactly, but I felt so intimidated that I looked away from him. And I regretted it almost immediately.
When I looked back again, he wasn't looking at me anymore.
Thankfully, I saw him looking at me again during Lamentful Miss. He even smiled a bit!
Okay, it wasn't a real smile, but if you know him well enough, you can see his mouth moving like that to suppress a smile, or you can see him swallow his smile. And that's exactly what he did at the moment he looked at me, and saw me singing along and moving my arms along with the music.
I think Mana had caught a bit of a cold during his short stay in Europe. He was sniffling a lot! And it was kinda... may I say it? ... Cute ^^
I don't know if it was just me, but... I have barely seen Mana-sama headbanging. Was it because of his cold? Or maybe because he's getting a little older? I don't know. But seriously, he wasn't headbanging very much.
Unlike Seth, at times he was headbanging like crazy! I loved it! From now on, the Ruki-copter will be: The Seiji-copter XD
I haven't seen K very much, but as far as I've seen him, he was awesome. Too bad he didn't wear his corset skirt though. I love that piece of clothing, and it suits him so well. Now, he was wearing some sort of army pants.
His make-up was awesome though <3
Hayato seemed to really enjoy himself behind his drums, I could see him sing along a few times. But I didn't pay very much attention to him.
Sugiya also came to the front of the stage a couple of times! That was great! I had expected he would stay in the back the entire concert, but I was wrong. He was an awesome bassist ^^
... Did I already mention how absolutely beautiful Mana was? He didn't look 'old' at all. And not 'fuller', either. He was just... beautiful <3
All in all, it was an AMAZING concert *________*
All the emotions, the feelings I had while they were playing are just indescribable. It was too overwhelming to put it down in words.
I wish I could go again. Next time they'll be in Europe, I'll make sure I am a Mon+Amour member.
But for now, I'll keep this within my memory. It meant so much to me. I'll keep this concert very close to my heart.
I love Mana-sama more than ever, and I'll never forget the way he looked at me with those sparkling deep blue eyes...
DIX LOVE!
