WTF?

All the copies of the Biversity Calendar I sent out last night got eaten by Comcast. After extensive experimentation, I determined that any email containing the string 2009lgbtihealth.org (the web site for a lesbian/gay/bi/trans/intersex health summit) just disappears. Vast, right-wing conspiracy against *only* intersex people?

It's probably some combination of length of the username, the fact that there are numbers?

What did Comcast support say?

Though I'd think .com would set off spam filters more than .org. *shrug*

The Comcast automated response said my email was received. Then ... crickets (as usual).

Maybe the URL was once used by spammers (e.g., if it was parked on a cracked box or something). Or maybe somebody did a joe job against that domain, causing it to get into spam filters. Or conceivably, maybe somebody actually sent out unsolicited bulk email from the domain. Those are the less malicious (on the part of Comcast) theories I can come up with off the top of my head.

Up
