One of "our" turkeys showed up today with an arrow sticking out of its side. Fuck! Because of the angle, this poor bird can't even lie down. Turkeys are among the dumbest creatures on god's green earth. If you feel like you just have to go out killing things and you just wound one, then for god's sake track it down and finish the job. How hard

Stupid fuckers. That's unethical even among hunters.
You could do like we do and fire off some large guns in the backyard every year or so. Word gets around. Alternately you could put up a bunch of "Warning - live ammo range" signs around your property. I know it's not exactly your style though. Maybe M could fashion up a protection ward? Sorry buddy.

Oh my God, that's awful.

I would be beyond horrified and enraged if I had wild turkeys in my yard and that happened to one of them.
