It certainly is a warm, beautiful day, as fancily dressed people mill about the paddleboat making merry. Gwendolen leans against the railing, looking out at the river thoughtfully. She just had an arguement with her parents about the usage of her powers and she was feeling irritated at them. She couldn't make a scene about it in this setting, she'd have to wait to vent it. She loved her parents, but how dare they tell her she couldn't use her magic!She thought they supported her! She looks over to wear they were with her little brother Cat looking happy. Maybe if...
And that's when the accident happened. In a split second, everything seemed to happen at once. There was a crash, the dam burst, screaming, a huge wage of water sweeping acorss and knocking her through the railings.
She struggles in the deep water, her thick skirts pulling her deeper, panic racing througgh her mind. What was going to happen? Was she going to die? She was a witch, she couldn't drown! Right? There he is! Cat has extra lives to spare! She reaches out to grab onto him, feeling his small body go limp, then jolt up as a new life kicks in. They break through the water, gasping for air...
[Gwendolen awakes with a gasp and sits up, her old fahsioned cotton night gown damp with sweat.]
"ah, it was just a dream..."
