One thing that I love about tmy job at this one grocery store I work at (in fact, it's probably the only thing I like about it) is my personal freedom to create and post comics and other cartoonwork as I see fit. Now, this is not something they really encourage, it's just something I do and they really got tired of fighting

You totally should have stood up for that. You could have pulled a "When the kid with the best talent sees that he won over the awesomeness I submitted, he'll be happy!"

Then again, the bottom 99% of the kids that lost will be crushed...

..so you'd be responsible for their first "Real World" lesson!
That'd be hott.
