You think people know when their kids are brats?  I went to a very exciting softball game this evening (I've done wonders for my social life in moving to Cincinnati).  And there are these two girls there -- one on the team and her older, even more obnoxious sister -- and I wonder whether their parents know how annoying they are.  They're so polite

I have wondered the same thing myself many, many times at the shop. Sad part is I don't think most parents realize (or want to acknowledge) it. : /

Hi, I do think that (some people at least) know that thier kids are brats...BUT I think they are in denial. My sister-in-law's kid is a serious brat (for many legitimate reasons sadly)...she knows it...but makes excuses. The thing we also realize is that it's her friggin' fault. Yes, she's a single mom and the kid is shuffled back and forth a lot and there has been lots of custody stuff and blah blah...but although she is a good mom is some ways there are no boundaries. She hits someone (an adult) and we speak to him...she says nothing. What's a kid to think. So he's a brat, he's 9 and no one really wants to be around him much anymore...but we sometimes put up with him because he's family and it's his parent's fault. Sorry about the rant, but this is something that drives me nuts. She knows, she just thinks everyone should just love him and tolerate it anyway. Ugh, annoying.
