Jamaica Trip
okay well I'm gonna tell about the trip and try and make it as short as possible. so read it.
Tuesday June 14-Day 1
Today I woke up at 3 in the morning. I got to the church around 4:30. We talked and laughed and got all the luggage in the church bus. It was crazy! We were all thinking how much of a hazard it was having all the luggage in the aisle and stuff, but it was funny. I sat next to Kayla and listened to Tiff and Britt talk about Becky and Kevin's sock puppets. Well we got to OIA and I sat next to Ashley on the plane. I fell asleep on the way there but I remember Tiff trying to tell Ashley she yawned but screamed it and Ashley started dying laughing. Haha, well we got to Jamaica around 1 and I rode with Jake, Tiff, and Travis in the rental car. We joked and stuff about things like "butt rock!" and all that jazz. I fell asleep again the car though until we got to Ocho Rios at the Burger King. We then left BK and found out our luggage trailor got stuck so we waited around singing, and then Jake, Tiff and me danced in the car to some old songs. We got to the house finally around 6 or 7 and had our opening devo. The view up here is soo amazing. You can see the mountains and everything. It was raining earlier and there was a double rainbow. I love here it. Well I gotta go.
Wednesday June 15-Day 2
I woke up around 7 and got to the church building around 9. Then we walked around the community handing out fliers and letting people know about the meetings. We then split into smaller groups and had some individual study time. Travis and I worked together. We met with two people, and one we were just gonna go give someone a bible and ended up studying with them. Her name was Nordi, and Naomi. Then the other study was in a store, which was interesting. But we then walked down by some houses and set up some studies for the next couple of days. We got back to the house for lunch and then went to a river called Cotton Tree river. It was awesome. There were some small waterfalls and junk. Really pretty. We also set up a study with a guy named Andre and Devon. i'm excited about it. When we were at the first meeting before, Macie and a girl Richelle took us to go get Andre and Richelle said "you seem really glad" and so I looked at her funny and was like "what do you mean?" and she said "like your really glad to be here or something" and I thought about it and I am. I am so glad God allowed me to be here. I love it here. Well lights out so I gotta go.
Thursday June 16-Day 3
Today was different. We ended up trying to meet with a guy named Osmond @ 10 but he didn't show up, probably becuz it was raining. so we walked down the hill to the community we went to yesterday and had some studies set up. We bought a beef patty before though, it was sweet! Then we walked around until we found this really inclined hill where it lead to a bunch of house. I almost fell like 3 times and so did Travis. We met a guy named Fitzroy, he actually told us to come back later but we ended up just alking to him for about an hour. He was pretty into it he just didn't want to take that step of faith. Haha he was rollin marajuana while we were talking to him which was kinda funny. We then walked back tomeet with Lisa and Christine who we had set up a bible study with yesterday but they couldn't so we met with Joycey instead. We talked for about two hours about the Holy Spirit and miraculous gifts. It went really well. we got back to the house and I ate currey goat/pork for lunch. I enjoyed the goat but it just looked really nasty. we went to the river for a while and came back and went to the church meeting. I just talked with andre about faith and stuff but he had already been baptized so it was all good. We played games with the kids like hot potatoe and keep away. We got back to the house and did our devo which was really powerful. I love singing praises to God. I am such a sap for that stuff cause I got teary eyed while singing. Anyway God is awesome and has blessed our trip so much already. Gotta go.
Friday June 17-Day 4
Today was awesome. We went to the house where Christine and Lisa were and talked to them for about 2 hours. Lisa made the decision to get baptized. I'm so excited for her. We then went to Pauline's house and she told us about how she was once a Christian but had just backslid in her faith. We taked to her and prayed with her at the end. it was pretty cool because you could really see God at work. We went over to a tire shop and met with some guys like Osmond. It was...interesting. we ended up leaving to go help Sammy, Ashley, and Becca with some of their study. So while Travis was talking with some of the guys the rest of us walked around. It was so funny cause Ashley was telling me how Sammy had ADD or something cause he couldn't focus on getting one place to another cause he would stop every two seconds to talk to someone new and leave Ashley and Becca behind. Sammy's hilarious. We then got back to the house and discussed stuff for the youth really which is what happened next. The youth rally went well. We did skits about "His passion" and our skit won. We played games and watched the videos on the big screen. But we couldn't show the movie because the power went out. But it was kool cuz we all were singing old motown songs at first then the Jamaicans taught us some games. haha "if you were never born skip around" and "24 boxes". I know it was Satan tonight but hopefully we can show the movie tomorrow night. I gotta go later.
Saturday June 18-Day 5
Wow today was amazing. We got up early to do VBS. It started around 9. We had about 12 kids @ first. But we did some songs, played some games like the blob, and leapfrog,and by then we had about 45 kids. We then had a snack and did our moses interactive skit. Then we did the craft. After VBS we went over to Barrys. Haha I guess on the way there I fell asleep and Sammy made up this thing about me being flatulance girl, Joel defacate man, and Sammy was wet willy man. anyway so they told me about it when I woke up and then I jumped off the cliff which was uber fun.We got back and got ready to do the movie. It's crazy because during VBS some of the kids were bieng "frogs" and tripped over a cord for the mic. jake finally fixed it. Then right before we were going to start it the computer froze. It was like Satan was doing everything to keep us from showing the movie. But God was the winner because we got it to work of course. It all went really awesome thanks to God. We had over 150 people show up so that's awesome. Well I'm done now.
Sunday June 19-Day 6
I got up early to go to Lisa's and Lawrence's baptism. I'm so excited for them. A group of us got back and went to church, which was 3 hours. I think everyone was having trouble staying awake because we were all really tired. But Sammy taught Bible class. He did really awesome, and went the whole 45 minutes. So kudos to him. But then we went to the river again and we built a dam with the rocks and Travis kept saying really funny stuff. I fell like a bajillion times and now you can start to see the cuts building up. We went back to the church for our final meeting and Jake taught, he did really well. So then we exchanged our goodbyes and info and stuff and got back and so now I'm ready for bed. So today was our last day with the church. I'm gonna miss everybody. Tomorrow we go to James Bond beach. I'm excited. Well i'm done.
Monday June 20-Day 7
We went to James Bond beach. I woke up and Travis and Jake were singing really badly and Travis was hitting all these high notes. They were acting like they were drunk or something but it was pretty hilarious I couldn't stop laughing. Well we got there and I played volleyball most of the time and went snorkeling. The water was SO beautiful. i've never seen anything more calming, beautiful or peacful. I loved it. I just sat and listened to some music while some people had a "debate" that was interesting. We got back and went to cotton tree river for our last devo where we shared what we got out of the trip. I know my mindframe has changed about reaching the lost and I also got to know Sammy and Celeste better. I fell asleep on the way back and went to bed.
Tuesday June 21-Day 8
I woke up to get ready to go to Dunns River Falls. People were makin fun of me about me sleep walking and being half awake and how I was having a fit when I went to bed. I was sobbing and everything and people were actually getting annoyed. It was really weird. I actually remember having a dream that I was falling in darkness screaming for help and then I heard a voice singing and a hand reaching out to me. I then saw this light from above and it calmed me down. Apparantly though, Brittany was singing to me in my sleep and it calmed me down. Yeah so that was pretty crazy. Miss Holli said that kids have episodes like that sometimes when they are SO exhausted and haven't had enough sleep. So yeah...it was weird. But anyway we got to Dunns River Falls and we were all joking cuz we hadn't seen any white people in a week and we were joking around cuz white people were everywhere. So we climbed the falls which was SO much fun. I luved it. And I did all the hard parts. Then when we got done and went to margaritaville. It was really neat because they had a slide that dropped into the ocean and two trampolines out on the water. I had a jamaican pizza with jerk chicken and pineapple on it. It was soo good. And I found out that I'm a meer cat. We stopped on the way back for italian ice cream and I had to stand up in order to keep from falling asleep. We got back to the hotel and I swam for a little bit and did flips off of Zach and Jake. They launched me super high! haha, then I fell asleep by the pool and we got back to our room I roomed with Ashley and Kayla. I got to know Ashley really well that night. We stayed up pretty late just talking about different stuff. It was kool. So I fell asleep with her talking to me haha.
Wednesday June 22-Day 9 Last day!
We got up and went to the market. I walked around with Becca and I bought a photo album, jewelry box, towel, and owl figurine for my family. I think we kinda got ripped off but it's okay. We then waited around for everyone to get done and we made up four new things for "If your happy and you know it". We had the spiderman, jamaicans, miss holli, and me. Good times. We then left the market and went to the hotel. I fell asleep on the ground and woke up with everybody staring at me. Travis said that they made a bet I would fall asleep in the airport and that I owed him 20 dollars! Haha so we finally left the check in area where I had fallen asleep and went to Margaritaville for lunch. It was really kool, cuz they had a little boat with a t.v. So after a bunch of people got done eating lunch we all watched scooby doo on the t.v. I sorda dozed off and then we waited for the plane by our gate. Brittany and I listened to disney classic songs and some other people were playin cards. We sang along to the songs and everything. Fun times. So I sat next to Ashley again on the plane! haha then we got to Miami and while we were waiting we got smoothies which were really good. and then Jake got this brilliant idea that we were gonna make a picture where we looked like the fish figurines on the wall. so it was jake, sammy, and me and they held me up against the wall with my feet in the air. It was so hilarious though because there was glass seperating us from the group so no one had any idea what we were doing they just saw Jake making funny faces cuz he was explaining everything and getting ideas. So yeah they were laughing a lot. Well we got on the plane and I fell asleep again listening to the classical station. We got back and a whole bunch of people were waiting for us. It was soo great seeing everybody. and the fact that some of them didn't even have to come they just wanted to support us and see us. So I got home and crashed after my mommy made me a pb and j
but seriously if you read all this I'll give you a dollar cuz you are really nice lol. or your just bored...see ya

Wednesday June 22-Day 9 Last day!
