Thanks for sharing your pics and your experience. I'm sorry it was such a zoo. I used to want to go to Comic-Con, but now I'm starting to think it's not worth the hassle anymore. It used to look like such fun, but now that it's a 'media event', it seems to have become a headache-inducing monster. *sigh*
I heard of a guy in CA who was holding an 'alternate Comic-Con'. It was basically Comic-Con as it used to be, just a bunch of fans getting together to talk comics and sci-fi, and small vendors selling merchandise. None of the corporate/Hollywood bullshit. Bless him!
While that's great and all, I'm not into comics, so it wouldn't work for me. I'm there for the Hollywood stuff. But the very size of the convention at over 100,000 people is ridiculous. They needed to keep it smaller, regardless of content. The majority of the scheduling and vendors at SDCC are still all about comics. I watch 48 shows. About 8 were represented.
