so i'm apparently just fucking retarded. no seriously, i used to be smart. what the hell happened ot me? grades came so easily to me before. i never had to worry. now i just feel like the biggest fucking dumbass ever. i'm not used to getting these grades. and it's really hard for me to accept them. yeah i realized i go to the university of michigan

Hey, I haven't read livejournals in forever, so I checked yours out for old time's sake. I had the same situation with grades this semester (engineering rapes you in the ass). It's difficult coming from THS where you got an A in something if you didn't pass out during class, and then going to one of the top schools in the country where the type of learning and thinking is something we haven't experienced yet. I guess my best advice would be that a bad grade isn't a problem if you either learned something from the class and just messed up, or realize your mistake and work to correct it. Strange as it may seem, a bad grade may be a good thing if it causes you to become a better student and get a better overall education than if you just breezed through with all A's. If you make consistent improvements, people will notice when reviewing your transcript later on. Besides, grades aren't the most important part of college - it's getting experience in things you didn't have the opportunity for before you got to college. Best of luck
