A bird began singing
Outside my open window
As I sat inside reading
And the sweet melody
Filled my soul with joy
Until I wanted to dance
But i just kept reading
And another bird joined in
They sang in perfect harmony
My heart yearned to join
Though I just kept reading
The birds flew away
Off to play together
And I was left alone
So I just kept reading.
