I just began a non-fiction book that is a bunch of essays that is going to try to convince me that there is life after death, and that belief has nothing to do with faith. The only time I have used bookmarking for a text-to-endnotes sort of thing is when I was translating from the original, and so flipping back to the notes every couple of lines. For that, I used a big clip and clipped all the intermediate pages together. Useful at the slow pace and heavy note usage of translating, not so much for general reading.

When doing an academic paper, though, my response changes to I use my fingers as bookmarks.
