"So, Ron--I guess taste for blondes run in the family, huh?"
"What?" A distracted Ron turned from his gift-wrapping to face his oldest brother.
"Ginny told me that the date you're bringing to Christmas dinner is a sexy blonde," Bill grinned his easy smile.
A few seat away, Fred and George started snickering.
"Uh, no--I mean, that is--" Ron stammered, "sexy and blond, yes."
"We heard there's a French ancestor in the family!" Fred piped up.
Bill looked curious. "Really? I wonder if they're related to the Delacours at all."
"Oh no, not at all," George had materialized behind Ron, slinging an arm around his shoulder. "Their family has been going to Hogwarts for generations."
"Just like our family then," Bill nodded. "Wait a minute--Fred, George, you've met Ron's date before? Is it that blond girl he used to date back in sixth year?"
Ron made a strangled sound in his throat.
"Oh, Ron's date had too much taste to hang out with us back in Hogwarts," Fred gave Ron an exaggerated wink.
"She's not in Gryffindor then?" The twins, grinning like cheshire cats, shook their heads no.
"My God." Bill's face paled. "Ron, please tell me--you're not dating the Lovegood daughter, are you?"
"NO!" Ron shouted, partly with relief. "Although--um, I don't think you'd like the person I'm dating any better than Luna."
Bill narrowed his eyes. "...person?"
Ron looked cornered. The twins started chuckling.
"Okay--my little brother is gay, and I never got the memo?"
"It's not--I mean--Mom and Dad still don't know--"
Bil was shaking his head incredulously. "The only thing more unreal is if you're dating the spawn of Lucius Malfoy."
The twins collapsed in laughter.
Bill stared at Ron's frozen face and muttered, "Oh, fuck."

It's not about interviewing Jason Isaacs wearing leather head to toe (Jason, not me) and discovering that he reads fan fiction about himself and gets a huge kick out of the more far-out stuff. It's not about that at all.
