Local One and Enchanted

Yay! The League and Local One have just organized another meeting for tomorrow. It seems that (after reading many blogs in an attempt to procrastinate my seminar presentation) the strike has been hitting EVERYBODY really hard. I always had this impression that the Broadway actors were well-payed, but it seems that it's more difficult than that ( Read more... )

I don't agree with the strike either. I'm glad that off broadway has been positively effected, anyhow.

Stagehands have a lot of benefits and it isn't right ot try and force any production to have more stagehands then are necessary for that particular show.

I agree. The stagehands seem to be extremely well payed, and they get more hours then one would expect for the job. I thought I was missing something, but it's good to find somebody who agrees.

I'm hoping it ends before December 10th, because my trip to NY ends on the 9th... ;) But well, even if it doesn't, I hope you'll have more luck than me!

STRIKEPLZENDNOW :(

(And I'm interested in seeing Enchanted too! Not sure if I will actually end up seeing it though, but yeah.)

Ack! That's even worse.

Local One and The League have been in a meeting for 6 hours now. I was hoping they'd reach a resolution sooner but it seems there might be another week of strike ~

If the strike hasn't ended by the 10th, I'll probably just postpone my trip until the spring. I really hope it ends sooner, though. What shows are (!!) you going to see?

Gah. I'm kinda sick of the whole thing now... :/ *has fingers crossed anyway* If the strike doesn't end, I guess I'll have to wait a few years to go back and see what's still running on Broadway. :/

And shows as in, movies or Broadway shows? x) If you meant movies, I'm interested in seeing Enchanted and the Golden Compass, but I have a knack of ending up not seeing the movies I want to see, heh. On Broadway, so far I'm only confirmed to be seeing Xanadu.
