Same brand, same comp, looks spiffy, runs spiffy.
Computer a)
  • Windows XP Media Center Ed. (^_^)
  • 512MB memory (twice as much as I run on now)
  • 200GB hard drive (This makes me giggle; My laptop can hold about 28GB. I would love, love, love more space)
  • blah, blah, blah, 2 disc drives (reads DVD discs and R/RW Discs)
  • 9 in 1 memory card ( Read more... )

*Windows Media Center: Glitchier/Buggier version of Win XP professional with maybe two functions that Itunes and Winamp (Both free) do MUCH better. Very little maintenance and updates are carried for this OS, my dad has it on his laptop and its really not all that stellar considering you can get win XP pro for significantly cheaper

*Use the money saved from above and upgrade to a 1g or 1.5g RAM

*64 Bit Processer is nice, but if its costing you more over one of the newer processers (which happen to be more reliable) I wouldnt really be so excited about it. See the thing with it is it has VERY LITTLE support for it, you need to run a special OS for it and some software dont really recognize it, and if you ever come to a major hold you are kind of stuck in the water because there is no support.

*CRT is a large old monitor with the curved front versus a flat screen which is the same but with the LCD front so it looks a little better.

Who are you buying through?

I'm buying through a store, because I am porr and don't want to pay shipping. Which means I take what they give me. So as far as I know I can't upgrade it. Also, I'm not really saving any money, since I don't have any to begin with. The 64-bit processor is actually cheaper. grr... computers should be cheaper because I say so.

Laptops are nice, but a) they're more expensive, b) they heat up fast and cool off slow, and c) I'm always tempted to put them on my lap, which means one leg has a nice burn on it right now.
