Late catching up?

So, I had stopped at 'Pretty Much Dead Already' so I picked up at the next episode and I have to say I regret waiting this long to watching them all. Sat straight through watching the rest of the season non-stop and I am just pissed because I want more. Daryl has to be the best one out of the whole group to me in many ways, but the main one is that he is the one I see that changed so much. Well minus Rick, but I will get to that in a minute. Daryl has cemented himself more into the group and because a member that, to me, holds a huge 'rank'. He might still comes off as a loner and someone rude to push people away, but I can't blame him at all and yet he still changed for the better. He is the group's hunter/provider, protector, and the most important is that he is smart and a tracker. These things I would find highly valuable in a situation like the group faces.

Now Rick. He is just all kinds of messed up now to me. At first I liked him as I could find a respect for his want to believe in humanity like Dale, but then here comes how he handles Shane and then holding onto that major secret dropped at the last episode. I don't agree with how he tried to handle Shane on his on nor do I like that he did not tell anyone Shane tried to smash his head in. That itself should have clued Rick in on that he would not be able to make Shane change how he is and that he is a major danger to himself. But nope he had to be a big shot and try to 'handle' it on his own. See how this turned out? Then there is that secret that he had no real right to keep from the group. I can understand in a way why he would keep the secret, but at the same time they did deserve to know about it. What is someone died from in the home and then changed, killing someone else? That would have been on his hands. Overall the poor guy is losing it and his wife I just want to beat upside the head. She implied that Shane needed to be 'taken care of' and that he was a danger, but did nothing about it herself other than pushing at Shane. To me she has no right to be all 'don't touch me' and freaked out when Rick told her about killing him. What did she think was going to happen?

Overall I think that the next season is going to be well worth the waiting for it. As long as I get Daryl then I can watch it anytime! Just hope Rick settles more and that the group does see that he is kinda the best leader they have. He is doing everything to keep them safe and find them somewhere to live, putting himself in danger a whole lot to do this. No one in the group other than him I can see leading the group safely. Daryl I might love, but he pushes people to much to a distance to really be cut out as a leader. Not that I think the guy would even want to if offered. Now if only I can get around to catching up to Supernatural and I would be set!
